Not Enough Time In The Day!

Let's see.....today I ran around like a crazy person, talking to myself and trying to get ready to go Gainesville for training for my new job. Roger took the kids to visit Tina and Nicole. I got up this morning and ran to Walmart to get some clothes for Ryan and Andrew. Came home and started getting ready, preparing to pack. I got my toiletries packed and layed out my clothes to pack. Then I went and got a haircut (it's not done in the pic, it's just been behind my ears the rest of the day) and back to Walmart for clothes for me and groceries for the boys and my Mom (who will be staying with them) for the week. I came home, put groceries away, cooked dinner, and ate. I did take a little break to play some Guitar Hero, while Rogie cleaned the kitchen. Again, I may keep him. :) Then, break time over, back to packing, washing clothes and checking off my list. Andrew has been working on a drawing on his new poster size drawing pad. It's a semi truck. He's still working on it but I'm posting a picture of the work in progress. Otherwise, it's been a good weekend, so far. Rogie and I hung out by the fire for a few minutes after the boys went to bed. Tomorrow, Rogie and the boys are going to Grandpa Roger's and Denise and I will be off to Gainesville. I probably won't be able to post until next weekend, so have a great week!

Finally....I'm ready!

I'm ready to go to Gainesville for training! I have SUPER computer and dual monitors and the software programs, etc. etc. etc. I feel like SpongeBob....I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready....

Anywho, Rogie was kind enough to come home today and put my desk together AND he even fixed my chair for me! Currently he's putting my file cabinet/printer stand together. I may even keep him. ;) Also, because Andrew did so well on his report card, we told him he could get Guitar Hero III (he borrowed the game from Uncle Mike and been playing it with the regular controller). So today I picked up the game w/ the guitar at Circuit City. Ryan will be getting Call of Duty, World at War as his reward for his report card. He, however, will have to wait. He just got Gears of War I for Christmas and we owed him for his last report card, so he recently got Gears of War II. Therefore, he'll survive; at least until I get back from training and we catch up on some bills. I picked up the Guitar Hero III b/c I found it on sale and there was only one left. I had to grab it. Plus, I figured we could all play a bit tonight. :) So, now I just have to try to get EVERYTHING else done before I go on Sunday. EEEEKKK! I can do it, though. I made it this far, right? Oh and yes, I had a BEER!!!! And I may have another one........

CRAZY!!!

Well, I think I've just about gotten all this "new computer for work" crap taken care of now. It was touch and go for a bit. My stomach has been in knots and I could cry at any given moment, but I think we got it worked out. A friend of my friend Denise, Gary, who used to own his own computer store is helping her with her new set-up. He is going to come over tomorrow and assist me with the final necessities for mine and then I should be good to go! Fingers crossed!!! I was back at Best Buy today to make a change in my original purchase. They were so great. If ever you need anything computer-wise from there (Best Buy Brandon), ask or look for O.C. He was so helpful and patient with me and my fragile state of mind. The girl at customer service assisting us with the exchange was wonderful and patient, too. Gary was able to get Denise up and ready today and she already has the "o.k" from the RedVision I.T. department. I hope to be in that position tomorrow. Then, Friday I will DRINK! LOL Also, yesterday, I had an eye doctor appointment and was able to get my contacts again!!! I've been without and damn near blind for about 7 or 8 months. So, I'm loving being able to see! After my appointment, I headed over to Nonna's and visited with her and Randy for a bit. I had a business transaction at the Bank of Randy (THANK YOU!!!!) and headed over to Best Buy for that original purchase I mentioned previously. Today was my trip back over there and then I took Andrew to an appointment. After, he and stopped in the Wal-Mart for a few groceries and a memory card he needed for his PSP. Then we can home, hauled everything (including the computer stuff) upstairs, and I made some dinner. After that, status quo. Ryan is now in bed and Andrew will be within a few minutes. I may have a "night cap" tonight. :)

Changing the Oil

Today was up with the boys early, as usual. Then actually did a few things around the house (I said a few). My friend Denise called and as we were discussing our new job, we both got emails from our new employer regarding our offer letters. So, it's official, I have a job! Later I went and picked up Andrew and we were off to an appointment we had for him to be evaluated by a phsyciatrist for depression. His therapist requested he be evaluated to be able to rule it out, or get him medication if necessary. The doctor we saw today said she felt he did not need medication. Basically, he's just a normal, crabby, pain in the butt teenager. :) So that was good news. Ryan was screened for gifted today in school. I'm expecting a call from the woman who did the screening to let me know how he did. He said he got to certain questions that the teacher said, "Oh I remember this question, I haven't seen it in awhile." He said, "That means I got to questions other kids didn't even get to!" So I'm anxious to see how he did. Tonight, Roger came home and we had dinner together. Andrew talked with Grandma Wendy for a bit and caught her up on his good report card and such. Then Aaron came over, so Rogie could help him change the oil in his car, Niko. Yes, Aaron's car has a name, Niko. Side note, we decided to name my car Elliot after Sara Chalke's character on Scrubs. My father used to name his cars when Todd and I were kids (and typewriters, too). So, I thought it was cool that Aaron and his friends have all named their cars. I've wanted to name mine for some time, but I just couldn't find a name that fit her. But, Elliot just popped into my head and it seemed to fit. Aaron and Rogie thought so, too. I like it b/c on the show the character is a girl with a boy name. I think that fits my little car, I refer to her as a "she", but the boy name works for her. Anywho, I digress, the guys got the oil changed and Aaron helped Rogie bring the desk and stand up into the apartment. Now Rogie can put them together for me. :) Aaron visited with me for a bit. He's doing well in school and just purchased a MacBook for school use. He then headed home and we proceeded to commence with the bedtime rituals. :) Now, the boys are in bed and Rogie and I are going to do something wild and crazy with each other.........Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie and two spoons! Yea Baby! You can't maintain this figure w/o icecream!

Bowling on Saturday

Rogie, Ryan and I headed over to the bowling alley for Ryan's youth league. He bowled good and pretty consistant, 106, 107 and 111. Of course, when you bowl like he did last week, it's disappointing. We tried to keep him from being disappointed and reinforcing that he can't feel compare last week to this week. He still bowled good. We did a couple of games of bowling for fun after league. Rogie whooped us the first game, but Ryan made a come back the second game. Unfortunately, Rogie ended up hurting his back and has been attached to the heating pad and downing ibuprofen the rest of the day and night. So we just took it easy the rest of the day. Hopefully, Rogie will be feeling better to go back to work Sunday.

My Day With Rogie

Rogie was home today. So, we got to sleep in (I got up with the boys at 6:00am and got them off to school, but then I laid back down a bit). We had breakfast together and then went to run errands. We went by Nonna's house, not to see Nonna, to see Salem, of course! LOL We visited with Nonna for a bit, then we hit Best Buy, Hobby Town, Dollar Tree, Lowes, Game Stop and finally WalMart. As I mentioned before, Ryan got his report card on Wednesday (middle pic). Today, Andrew got his report card. We are so proud of him! Last 9 weeks he had 2 "F"s. He brought them both up to "C"s!!! He also brought the "C" he had in History up to a "B". No "F"s this 9 weeks at all and only one "D". You know I hugged and kisses all over him, and he was nice enough to "tolerate" me. :) Today I asked Ryan where his report card was and he said, "It's on the frige". "Gosh, you should know that, I'm you son." I giggled and thought it was really cool he said that. I may not kill him after all! LOL Yesterday, I was typing my blog and my back was to the wall by the fireplace. I hear, "Hey Missy". I turn and look and (see pic) Ryan is in his thermal underwear standing against the wall. He says, "Can you see me?". I cracked up! So, naturally I had to take a pic. The kid kills me. Andrew is off to Josh's house for the weekend, so we're down to one. Maybe Dad and I will have some time together after Ryan goes to bed. That would complete my day with Rogie. :)

Me and The Mind

I have a childhood friend/longtime neighbor, Mindi. She and are the same age and lived two houses from eachother on the same block for most of our childhood. I went to private school and she public, but we were best friends at home. Sleepovers, birthday parties (see pic), and summertime outside for hours and hours. Riding bikes, skateboards, playing tag, frisbees, yo-yos, etc. Well, we're all grown up now and we live about 10 minutes from each other. We decided to get togher for lunch today. It was the first time in about 5 years. We had an great lunch. We got to catch up on our families, moms and dads, sibs, kids, everything. We talked and laughed about the old neighborhood and memories of Todd riding his bike into the "green box" many times. I really enjoyed being able to spend time with my friend again.

It's COLD!!! (Hush up snowbirds!)

I'm a Florida girl, dammit, and it's been COLD! It doesn't ususally bother me too much, but I'm completely unprepared as far as Ryan's wardrobe goes. So, if it's cold for a day or two, we're good. But, any longer and I have no other warm clothes for him. Marietta (Nonna's friend) bought him a second pair of uniform slacks....Thank God (and Marietta), so we're making due. I've just had so much other stuff going on lately that I didn't think ahead. And, he's growing like a weed, so I can't get by with anything from last year. No biggy though, I've been able to make due with what he has and I was able to pick him up one more long sleeve uniform shirt today. Walmart had NOTHING!!! One group of about six long sleeve shirts, all one color and of course it's not one of the colors his school requires. But, under the circumstances, him being warm is more important, so I grabbed one. At least they had his size. There was nothing else, though. No sweatshirts, no plain long sleeve t-shirts, no thermal underwear, nothing. Anyway, as for me and the cold weather, I just don't like that my hands and feet get cold. One good thing is we get to use our fireplace. Ooooh waaarrm. But never forget, we're in Florida, we will blink and it'll be hot as hell again. :) Roger came back home today, so he and Andrew worked in the train room again. It's coming along.....see the pics above. Rogie's in there now just playing with the train, watching it go around, up the incline and down and around again. He looks so cute I had to go take a picture of him (and video).

January 20, 2009

First thing this morning I texed my baby brother because it's his birthday (he's the one on the left of my cousin the Blue Man). I did talk to him later and sent him a card, too. Then I began to watch the inauguration of our new president. Around 10:30 Rogie came home, so that was a nice suprise. He hung out with me for a bit, then took a nap. Nonna called b/c she and Randy were checking out computers for me for my new job. Thanks Nonna and Randy! Ryan came home from school with his report card. All "A's" and one "C". I hate that b/c I want to get on him about the "C", but I still want to praise him for the "A's". He's just got to be difficult! hee hee hee Then we picked Andrew up from school and headed over to his therapy appointment. From there we stopped at the art store so he could use his gift certificate from Nonna (he's been dying to get over there). He loved it. That place is huge and awesome. He got the big poster size pad of drawing paper he's been wanting. He also got a bunch of gel pens to draw with, two different stensils and a magnifing glass with a light (which he neeeded). It came to $50.20, 20 cents over the amount of the certificate. I'm thinking, "perfect". He gets in the car and says, "I'm sorry I went over the amount". We just giggled and told him no problem, we can handle the 20 cents. :) We stopped at Hobby Town so Rogie and Andrew could pick up "one more thing" they needed. Then home. We were a bit behind schedule, but the rest of the night was status quo, fiddle with the train set a bit, dinner, showers, teeth brushed and off to bed. It wasn't too bad. Ryan had already done his homework and Andrew didn't have any due to watching the inauguration in school. So, it all worked out.

Sunday, January 18, 2009

Lazy Sunday. Roger went to work this morning. I did some grocery shopping this afternoon. Ryan is spending the night at his friend's house tonight, since tomorrow they are off school for MLK Day. Uncle Mike let Andrew borrow Guitar Hero, so he's been rocking out almost non-stop for a few hours now. Otherwise, a pretty uneventful day. Didn't do anywhere near the chores I needed to do. They'll be there tomorrow, too. :)

Auntie Francine and Bruce's Visit

Today Ryan bowled the following at his youth league, 145, 140 and 168. The 168 was his personal best. He was sooooo excited and we were sooooo proud! The we headed over to my parents to pick something up and visited with my Dad a bit. Mom was working, so we missed her. From there we hit Best Buy to look into my new computer needs, which didn't go well. O.k., so on to plan b, I guess. Anyway, after that we headed up to Karen and Mike's for family dinner with Auntie Francine and Bruce who are in town visiting. We had a wonderful dinner and very yummy dessert. The grown-ups visited in one room, while the kids (including me and Mike) played Rock Band in the other. It was a fun night, as it always is when we're all together.

Friday January 16, 2009

Today was Ryan's trip to the eye doctor for his first exam. His eyes are great, no glasses needed. He did have his eyes dialated, which meant he got a pair of those awesome plastic wrappy shades for sunlight protection. We had some lunch afterward and headed to the store to pick up a desk and printer stand for my new job. Later Rogie came home and he and Andrew continued work on the train layout. Now it's build the foam incline to the mountain. Rogie brought a new video game home for Ryan for his good report card. Therefore, Ryan was on the game (playing online with Uncle Mike) for the rest of the night. Then Rogie and I went to dinner for "date night". We've decided to try to do something just the two of us once or twice a month. We've lost that in taking on the boys and becoming a family. So, since we had some gift cards from Christmas, we thought we'd start there. It was great. We made a rule that we had to keep the "talking about the boys" to a minimum and we did pretty good not breaking it. Once we were home, it was back to the grind, putting children to bed and hitting the hay ourselves.

The Dentist

Today I took Ryan to the denist for his cleaning. They love him there. The doctor always tells me what a good looking kid he is and what a nice young man he is. He did real well and got a good report. No cavities, good brushing, it all looked good and healthy. The doctor did tell me that Ryan needs braces pretty much immediately. He has a class 2 overbite that really needs to be corrected (like father, like son). I told him I was already on it. I was looking on the insurance provider list for an Orthodontist already. He said to let him know who my choices are and he'd give me his recomendation to make sure we take him to a good one. He's a really good dentist, Roger and I really like him. When we were leaving, Ryan was sure to say "Bye" to the ladies in the office. Then he aked them to "tell the doctor I said bye". It was so cute. Then all the way home he wanted to know about insurance. "What happens to your insurance when you die?" At which point I explained the difference b/t health and life insurance. That prompted life insurance questions. "Who gets the money when you die?" So I explained "beneficiary" and told him mine was Aaron. To which he replied, "But what about us?" Like Aaron just going to take the money and run. It got the point that he stopped and said, "I know I'm probably driving you crazy with the questions." Of course, I told him no. I didn't mind, because they were good questions and he can learn from them. Roger was able to come home today for a bit, so of course he went right to fiddling with the train set. The picture shows the preliminary ground work for the future mountain. My big kid. Ryan and I watched The Day After Tomorrow, which was pretty good, scary to think about, but good. Later Andrew came home and we did our ususal routine, dinner, free time for a bit, then showers, brush teeth and bed. My friend Denise called and we had a good chat and then Karen called to give me the update on family dinner Saturday night with Auntie Francine and Bruce while they're in town. That'll be a good time. :)

My Daddy's Birthday

Yesterday I got up with the boys and got them off to school. They had "early release" day, so they were home by 12:45 and 2:45. Rogie was home, too, so we headed out to Staples to pick up new weekly appointment calanders for me and Rogie, then over to Hobby Town for more train stuff, then off to see Andrea. Andrea is Andrew's councelor/therapist. This appointment ended up being me and Rogie sitting with her for an hour. We do this because it helps us, but also it's beneficial to the whole family. It was about time for another "just the parents" visit. :) We felt better afterward, as we usually do. Then we headed to Mom and Dad's for Dad's birthday dinner. Mom made pot roast, mashed potatoes, veggies and cornbread. It was great!!! Aaron was there, too, so I got to spend some time with my boy. :) We visited for a bit, then home. Rogie had to go back to work that night. The boys are finally starting to get back to normal sleeping habits from their winter break, so they showered, brushed teeth and crashed. Then Rogie headed out and I could crash, too. :)

I Got My Living Room Back.....

Today was a pretty good day, chilly and rainy, but good. I got up with Ryan this morning at 6am. He got ready for school and layed back down on the couch (with me on the other one). Then we both preceeded to doze off and I didn't wake up until 7:20, which is 5 minutes after the bus comes. So, then I had to drive him over the school and drop him off. I awoke Andrew before I left and luckily he actually got up, so I didn't have to deal with him still sleeping when I got back. He headed out on time, so all was well from there. Then I took care of some phone calls (Verizon-No you can't get Fios; Brighthouse-It's not us, it's you; 2nd call to Joni at the Urologist's office to schedule Andrew's surgery- still no call back; and CVS to refill some Rxs) and claimed my weeks for my big unemployment check online. Denise called to update me on the latest info regarding our new job. She also sent me a couple of emails, one with some info for our new hire paperwork and one with an add from Craigslist for a computer, monitor, printer, laser mouse, desk and chair. The computer meets more the requirements system-wise for the job. She's awesome!!! I'm going to check into it further tomorrow. I did some running around looking for the right weekly planners for Rogie and I. We both need one for 2009. I've been spoiled b/c for years I've been able to get them through my jobs, but now I'm screwed. I have to actually buy one myself. :) They're not cheap either. I was suprised at the cost. Anyway, I managed to keep Ryan off the X-box marathons by limited him to 1 hour today. That was after homework was done, of course. My Ensy came by to change the oil in his car, so I got to see him a bit and we'll all be together at Nan and Grandpa's for dinner tomorrow night. Ryan and Andrew watched Death Wish, yes Charles Bronson circa 1973, after dinner tonight. Old school, I love it! Then, once we started the "getting ready for bed" process, I began to put my living room back together. Yea!!!! I took all the Christmas decor down last week and put it away, except for the naked tree, which Rogie was kind enought to take care of Sunday night. So for almost two days my living room was still the aftermath of Christmas. Furniture was not where it belonged, needles all over the carpet and the tree is fake, what's up with that? So I cleaned, vaccuumed, moved furniture and I feel it resembles a living room again. I do need to note that the corner the computer is in, is not included in this story and therefore also deleted from the pictures. :) Well, I have to make my way toward the bedroom now. It's about that time. Goodnight.

Pretty Uneventful

Monday, Monday......not much happening today. I've been working on computer requirements for my new job. Chatted on the phone a few times with Denise to share ideas. I'm definitely getting a second computer, I did get that decided. I picked Andrew up from school today, b/c the neighbor was unable to bring him home. The boys both did their homework w/o a fight, but after dinner I kind of laid into Ryan about constantly being on the stinkin' X-Box and monopolizing the living room (see pic). That didn't go well, but it's o.k. now. I have to enforce some rules now or he'll just sit there for hours. Other than that, I cleaned a bit and did a bit of laundry. Nothing even close to putting a dent in my list of chores, but hey, it's only Monday. :)

It has begun.....

Today, construction on the "train room" began. Roger and Andrew headed out and purchased the wood and such that they needed to build the model train tables. They both worked on construction out in the garage and hauled our dinning room chairs down to store in the garage. Then they hauled the tables, in three pieces, into the house. They finished putting them together and set them up. Then they set up the train for an initial run. Ryan help bring the parts up stairs, too, and I helped Rogie move our glass table top that weighed a TON, into the other room. Ryan played outside with his friends for most of the day, so with everyone out, I had several hours of peace and quiet. Rogie has created monsters with the boys. He and the boys now think it's funny (and I do it too sometimes) to repeat and giggle at certain words and phrases when they are said in conversation. For example, everytime the word "wood" was mentioned they stop and laugh. Tonight, Ryan got out of the shower and walked into the living room as Andrew was watching a show about drag racing. The first thing Ryan heard the narrator say was "cracks in the asphalt". He had to come out to the patio when Dad and I were and tell us. They do it now ALL the time. I can't say, "I'm going to start cooking once I've defrosted the meat". They both say, "meat" and laugh. I totally and completely blame Rogie. :)

Are You Ready To ROCK?

Saturday, I took Ryan to his bowling league and he bowled a 115, 103 and 119. Very consistant for someone who, "didn't feel like bowling today". Roger and Andrew ran some errands and shopped for additional track for the model train. Then, we headed up to Brooksville to visit Mike, Karen and the girls for "Spanish Heritage Night". What that entales is roast pork, rice and beans, which was wonderful!!! Then we played Rock Band. What fun!!! Karen is quite the drummer. Mike rocked the guitar. Ryan held his own on the bass. And, Rogie and I took turns singing and playing the drums. Andrew had a shot on the drums, too. We even had our groupie....Kaylee. It was too much fun and Rogie and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we had to head back home, but we'll be back!!!

I got the job!!!!

Wednesday was the Memorial service for Dolores "Meemaw" Davila. It was so hard to see her family so sad without her, but it was good to see old friends, talk and share memories. She was some lady and she'll be missed. On a good note, today was a good day......I got the job!!!! And, so did my friend Denise. Yeah!!! That is how we met about 14 years ago, co-workers at ARTA. We've remained friends all these years and now we'll be co-workers again. :) It should work out quite well. I have to do a 2 week training in Gainesville, but then I'll be working from home. I'm looking very forward to it. Yesterday was a good day, too. I was contacted by an old friend from elementary school, Farha, via Facebook and we chatted and caught up. It was so cool. I also had a phone interview for this job, that I wasn't sure went too well, but I guess it did. Andrew has been off to a shakey start now that he's back in school, but I think he'll straighten up here soon. First, he slept in one of his classes and was sent home with his classwork. Then he took all night to get the one page of questions done and the answers were these smart ass remark type answers. For instance, the question was something along the lines of "when reading a book do you find the main character......" and he'd answer, "I don't know, I don't read much." AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Anyway, then he got in a bit of trouble yesterday for bringing the silly string he got in his Christmas stocking to school and spraying a girl in the face with it. He says he was just going to spray it outward, but someone bumped his arm and it sprayed in his friends eye. Did I mention AAARRRGGGHHH!!!???? So of course I've discussed all this with him and he is on really thin ice. If I tell Roger, he can bet on getting a hair cut with the clippers. I'm giving him a chance to get back in the groove, since he is coming off winter break. As for Ryan, he does his homework right when he gets home, just like he's suppose to, however then he wants to log on to X-Box Live and play Call of Duty 4 for next 5 hours straight. So I have to regulate that addiction and disconnect him from the Borg. All my Christmas decorations are packed up now. I just need to get the boxes put away and get the now naked tree down, boxed and put away. Then I can put my furniture back where it belongs and get my living room back. Whooo Hooo!!! Rogie came home tonight, so I'm thinking the tree will be his job tomorrow. ;) Tonight the boys are watching Wall-E and I guess they're enjoying it. It's been nice and quiet for about 45 minutes now. Love it!!!

The Job Interview....

Quick catch up.....yesterday I attended my Uncle's funeral with my Mom. My father and my son both worked the funeral, which was nice. I felt my uncle's family's loss, and that was a bit emotional for me, but it was a nice funeral and I got to see Uncle Joe one more time and say goodbye. Last night, I took Andrew to the Hobbytown for some model purchasing and then the boys and I had dinner at Ozzie's (a buffet) with Mom and Dad. We had a good dinner and the boys ate like the piglets they are and I only had to yell at them twice. :)
So today, Denise and I took a road trip to Gainesville for a group interview with a company looking to fill several title search/examiner positions. I was up with the boys at 6:00am and got them off to their first day back to school. I got ready and Denise was here a little before 11:00am. Off we went. We got there a little before 1:00pm, I know, good time, but Mario Rosario was driving!! hee hee hee Anyway, we wasted a bit of time, then got to the interview. There were 14 people total in this group interview. It was definately different from any interview I've ever done, but I feel that Denise and I both did great. We RULED!!! One disappointing point was within the first couple of minutes of the interview. The staffing specialist begins to "tell us about the positions available" and right off the bat says that the job is part-time. I was a bit put off by that because I specifically called her prior to ask a few questions and one of them was verifying that the position was full-time. Typical!!!! However, I feel it can still be beneficial and after the 90 day training/orientation period, you can apply for full-time. I'm very excited about getting started on the 2 online businesses I'm forming with Jeanne and Juliette, so maybe, starting off "part-time" for the first 3 months is a good thing. Also, I don't know what their "part-time" is, it may still be 30 or more hours a week. That wouldn't be too bad. Denise and I are both waiting for a call for a phone interview and then hopefully we'll know. I'm hoping it's this week. The boys both had a good day in school today. Back to the grind. :) Rogie was able to come home for a few hours tonight. Yeah! I miss him when he's gone. He'll shower, eat and hang out for a few then head back out. He and Andrew are making plans for their train room. We'll be turning out dining room into the hobby room starting this weekend. Well, I'm going to spend some time with the family. Good night.

I know it's late.....

So today was pretty uneventful as all Sundays should be. Ryan is getting into watching "old" movies on AMC. He's currently watching Rambo and has Death Wish, that's right, Charles Bronson circa 1973, set to record. I love it though. I think it's cool that at his age he'll watch movies that are 35 years before his time and enjoy them. I did recieve some sad news this morning, though. My childhood friends and neighbors, the Davila family, lost their Mom to cancer. Unfortunately, we knew it was coming, but it still quite a loss when it happens. I feel a lot of love and sadness for her family, but I'm glad she is no longer in pain and with God. She was the neighborhood Mom and one great lady, but her legacy will live on in her wonderful kids and grandchildren. My Uncle passed away, also. He was elderly and ill. Again, I feel for his family and their loss, but I'm happy to think he's with my Auntie and God now. I'll be attending his funeral Monday with my Mother and Mrs. Davila's memorial service on Wednesday. It'll be a tough week. On a happier note, I have a job interview on Tuesday that I'm very excited about, so keep your fingers crossed for me. Tomorrow (later today since it's 1:28am) will be a much busier day, so I better try to get some sleep.

My first day blogging.....

Today is my first day blogging, so here I go. We just had one of Andrew's friends, Josh, come spend a couple of days with us. Today we took Ryan to his bowling league. He started out slow, off track with the holidays and all, but did much better in his second and third games. Then we headed over the bridge to St. Pete to bring Josh home. After, we met the boys mom, Tina and their sister, Nicole at H&R Trains. Andrew got a train set for Christmas, so he's been DYING to get over there and check out the place. He and Roger have drawn out their plans to convert the dinning room (we never use) to the hobby room. Anyway, we left there and had a little visit at a McDonalds, then headed home. Once I was home, my mom called to tell me that my Uncle had passed. I was saddened by the news, but he was elderly and ill, so I felt a bit relieved for him. He can be with my Aunt again, now. :) So tomorrow will be the viewing and Monday the funeral. My folks came by to drop something off and visited for a few minutes tonight. Roger is getting up from his nap to go to work tonight. He's got to drive to Louisiana. Things may be looking up for us in '09, fingers crossed. I have a job interview on Tuesday, I'm hoping and praying works out and Roger may be making some changes by leasing to own the truck he currently drives with his company. That should increase his income, which would help us catch up on our finances. Also, Tuesday the boys go back to school and Scubs returns to television on ABC at 9:00 pm. So, Tuesday should be a great day. Well, that's it for my first blog. Tomorrow's another day.......
